Paul Bunyan State Trail
The Paul Bunyan State Trail is 123 miles long, not including short on-road connections through the cities of Baxter and Bemidji. Extending all the way from Crow Wing State Park to Lake Bemidji State Park, it is the longest of Minnesota's state trails and the longest continuously paved rail-trail in the country.

Foot Hills State Forest
Highlights of this trail include lake views and a path that runs through scenic, deep hardwood and pine forests. The area is particularly beautiful in the fall when the leaves light up the forests with exuberant colors.

Northern Lights Casino
Northern Lights Casino is proudly owned and operated by the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Our new facility, which opened in May of 2001, is located four miles south of Walker, Minnesota. The casino with its non-stop gaming action adds round-the-clock fun for every grownup visiting the area.

Shingobee
Rec Area
The Shingobee Recreation Area provides a variety of summer and winter activities. The area offers six miles (9.4 km) of trails for hiking, hunting, birdwatching, primitive camping, and cross-country skiing in the heart of Minnesota's Northwoods.

Heartland State Trail
The Heartland State Trail was one of the first rail-to-trail projects in the country. It is a 49 mile multiple-use trail between Park Rapids and Cass Lake.

The Chippewa National Forest is considered one of the most aquatic National Forests, with more than 400,000 acres of open water and wetlands, many of them habitat for wild rice.
